Kim Kardashian’s New Scent

Beauty Fashion November 2009 | 1 Comment

kim-kardashian-perfumeQuestion overheard in an all male office conversation (true story): What do you think Kim Kardashian smells like?  My favorite answer was “Money.”  After giggling and snickering at all the Reggie Bush sex innuendos, it turns out that we’ll all be able to know soon enough. The first of two perfumes will be released exclusively at Sephora around Mothers Day. Hot on the heels of Shoe Dazzle, money might be the right answer after all. At least I’ll know what to get the guys for our Swanky secret Santa.

Helena De Natalio Hobo Bag

Fashion November 2009 | 0 Comments

Helena-De-Natalio-Carrie-Leather-Hobo-bagAt this stage in your life you’ve at least heard of the Golden Rule.  You know: Do unto others… blah blah blah.  Well this Saks exclusive is one hell of an example of why! Not only is the color ridiculously easy to match with jeans and a long sleeved T for coffee with your besties, but the style can effortlessly be glammed up with a twirly skirt and heels for happy hour.  So – back to the Golden Rule, you buy one for me and I’ll buy one for me too!  I know that’s not really how it’s supposed to work: but in my world, rules were meant to be broken. Do want.

Farouk CHI Professional Hair Dryer

Beauty November 2009 | 0 Comments

Farouk-CHI-ProHave you ever been to your stylist, and she blew your hair completely dry in half the time it takes you at home? It’s not because she’s trained differently – it’s her equipment. But not all hair dryers are created equal. Meet the Farouk CHI Pro: Mentioned in French Vogue, People, Allure, and Elle; this lightweight, professional (yet cheap) model is not only quick to get the job done, but more importantly – done well. Special Guest Post: Prettyconnected.com – Lemon Ginger Mint Manicure

Beauty November 2009 | 3 Comments

lemon-ginger-mint-manicureWe’re back from hiatus with the first in a regular series of special guest posts from friend Lara at Pretty Connected. Lara is our resident beauty expert and will bring you all the beauty news, happenings and reviews a girl could want. Stay tuned for more!

Holy smokes Batman! This is serious stuff. I scooped some out from the jar and rubbed the concoction all over my hands. At first I questioned the silky smooth result (considering how hard the salt was exfoliating my skin). After rinsing the shea butter absorbed into my skin and – BAM! – my hands were the softest they’ve ever been. Finish with a hand cream or just call it a day. Read part two

Abercrombie Scarlett Jacket

Fashion October 2009 | 1 Comment

abercrombie-scarlett-jacketWell my little darlings, there is no getting around it anymore: Winter is around the corner. Some of our favorite things in this blustery time of year include spiked egg nog, holiday office parties, and mistletoe – for obvious reasons. The newest addition to our list is the Abercrombie Scarlett Jacket in Ivory. Nice and tailored so you don’t look like the marshmallow floating in your cocoa, it also has a uber-cozy (and removable) hood. With 80% down and 20% feather insulation you’re sure to stay toasty. The red and white checkered lining adds a cute lumberjack look.

Amazing Letterpress Poster

Home & Garden October 2009 | 0 Comments

letterpress-posterBeing the designers and pixel pushers that we are, we have to appreciate how it all used to be done. Letterpress is one of those beautiful printing techniques that we instantly recognize when we see it. Usually found on upscale wedding invitations, fine editions of books or, in this case, a meticulously created work of art. Artist Cameron Moll handcrafted, character by character, this 16″ x 24″ poster over the course of roughly 100 hours. We instantly fell in love with it and already have a spot on the wall and a frame picked out. Videos of the printing process after the link.

Real Ryder Tilting Spin Bike

Health & Living October 2009 | 3 Comments

realryder-abf8Our hands-down favorite exercise is cycling. Whether it be road biking, downhill mountain biking or a casual trail ride through the park – nothing burns more calories and puts a smile on our face like clipping in to our pedals. Now… when we actually make it to the gym, spinning is obviously our preferred activity. Still, you can really only pedal faster or slower on the existing bikes. The RealRyder adds another dimension and allows for a steering/leaning movement like a real bike. More movement = more muscles used = more calories burned.

Penguin Humidifier

Health & Living October 2009 | 0 Comments

crane-penguin-humidifierIt’s getting to be that time of year where no matter how much lotion we use, or water we drink, everything is still dry. If you’re like us and have been waking up with a scratchy throat or suffer from allergies, this might just do the trick. Aside from being shockingly cute – although we do have a soft spot in our heart for penguins – it’s also whisper quiet and really pumps out the mist. Fill it up with about a gallon of water and you’ll have about 11 hours of moisture-rich air. When it’s out of water, it shuts off on its own.
